We talked about how our school has continued to grow, now being 3 form entry throughout, as well as the amazing sports results, our School of Sanctuary Award and the Basic Skills Award.

On top of this, we said a very heavy-hearted goodbye to our year 6's who are making the leap up to high school. They have blown us away with their great attitude and work ethic this year, as well as being fantastic role models for the rest of the school. Their hard work throughout SATs, has been rewarded with some of the best results in Leeds, not to mention being well above the national average.

As a school, we have many people to thank for our success this year, pupils, staff, governors and parents. We will always be thankful for what we have and for the love of God, who guides us down the paths we take. We are confident that next year, with His guidance, we will continue to build upon our successes.

Finally, we wish you a safe and happy summer holiday, but most of all a huge well done and good luck to year 6.

See you in the next academic year!
http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/news/407271.good-luck.jpgTue, 08 Aug 2017 10:39:06 GMTSchool Council Votinghttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-16-school-council-votinghttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-16-school-council-voting
This week, children have campaigned and voted on their school council representatives. Elections have been close and the successful campaigners are now eagerly awaiting their first School Council Meeting.

Year 6 also campaigned and voted on House Captains and Vice Captains.
http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/news/Y6Voting(5).JPGMon, 04 Sep 2017 15:44:14 GMTLibrary Visithttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-08-library-visithttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-08-library-visit
Children enjoyed a visit from the Library Service and were told about the exciting Summer reading challenge.

http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/1024x1024s/news/107415.img1454.jpgTue, 08 Aug 2017 10:34:40 GMTSt Bart's Sports Weekhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-08-st-bart-s-sports-weekhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-08-st-bart-s-sports-week
This week has been an active one with sports afternoons taking place.

Year 1 through to Year 6 took part in various events ranging from skipping to the egg and spoon race.

Next week it's the turn of Nursery and Reception.

{gallery:St Bart's Sports Week}
http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/news/714834.jc.jpgTue, 08 Aug 2017 10:20:42 GMTMeeting Royalty http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-07-meeting-royaltyhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-07-meeting-royalty
What an amazing day for some of our Year 4 children.

They went to play tag rugby at Headingley Stadium and had a suprise visitor, Prince Harry.

Some of the children were lucky enough to talk to Harry and even catch a pass from him.

{gallery:Meeting Royalty}
http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/news/118678.stbarts1.jpgMon, 07 Aug 2017 15:14:31 GMTFather Michael Assemblyhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-07-father-michael-assemblyhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2017-07-07-father-michael-assembly
Today, Father Michael joined us for morning worship. After a year of hard work by the whole school, we were visited by Melanie Hadida today from City of Sanctuary. While she was here, School Council showed her all the work we have done over the past year to make our school a more welcoming and safe place for refugees. We know our school is an amazing place for anyone to come to, but we have worked extra hard this year!

Melanie was really impressed with our school and the evidence we presented her with. She said she has never had such a solid application and was hugely impressed with our portfolio of work and the environment of our school. In fact, she was so impressed she has asked us to become a mentor school, to help out other school who want to be a safe and welcoming place, just like ours.

Mrs Gavin accepted the award and thanked Mrs Brown, Miss Ingleson and all the children for their hard work.

Our award will take pride of place in our school entrance hall for everyone to see when they visit us. All three performances were huge successes with parents, siblings and families being very impressed at the acting and singing they saw. A massive well done to all the children and thanks to the staff for their hard work on costumes, dances and much more!

Happy Christmas from all the children and staff in Year 4 and 5, see you in 2017!

{gallery:Christmas Play - Goldilocks and the Three Bears}
http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/1024x1024s/gallery/13655/769533.img1443.jpgMon, 17 Jul 2017 16:15:12 GMTFather Michael visits Schoolhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-12-13-father-michael-visits-schoolhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-12-13-father-michael-visits-school
We were delighted to welcome Father Michael into school today for a special Christmas Assembly. He said that when he looks around, he sees a Hall full of Saints. We talked about what a Saint is. There are many famous Saints like Saint Bartholomew and Jesus's mother, Mary. Father Michael told us it is important for us to remember what God tells us through the Bible and his actions. His stories show us how we should conduct ourselves in our lives. After sharing a prayer, Mrs Gavin OBE praised the work of one of our LSA's in school, Mrs Rooks. She has been working hard with the sports teams we have at competitions. We look forward to Father Michael's next visit.

{gallery:Harvest Festival - 19th October 2016}

Today, we celebrated Harvest in Church with Father Michael. School choir Father Michael, spoke to us about how even if things aren't perfect or what we wanted, we should always still be thankful. Mrs Gavin OBE shared our school ethos 'BARTS' with us and we talked about each part and how it relates to us, as well as how we can work towards being successful.

{gallery:Wedensday 12th October 2016}

We were delighted to welcome Father Michael into school today to lead us in a Worship Assembly. We practiced our coordination in time with the beat of the music and had lots of fun performing it at the end.

In the afternoon, the whole school was treated to a sneak preview performance of the St Bart’s band, which gave us a taster as to the songs we heard performed on the evening.

At 4:30, the doors opened and hundreds of children and their families and friends came to enjoy our multicultural celebrations. Many worldwide foods could be enjoyed on the night, including foods and drinks from Italy, India, America, Hungary, Mexico and the Caribbean. Children also enjoyed playing games, getting Henna tattoos, getting their face painted, and buying some of their favourite books. The team worked excellently together in both defending and attacking, which resulted in them winning all their group matches, the quarter final and the semi final. We had made it to the final against Holy Family, what a fantastic achievement! Throughout the final the team continued to play brilliantly. Both teams worked incredibly hard, resulting with the game ending in a draw. It was down to the golden try and unfortunately Holy Family managed to score the first try. We were incredibly proud of the children’s achievements and are looking forward to the next tag rugby tournament in March.
http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/images/news/822515.tagrugby1400001.jpgFri, 14 Jul 2017 17:01:49 GMTSt Bart's U11 Girls' Cup is a success!http://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2014-06-07-st-bart-s-u11-girls-cup-is-a-successhttp://st-bartholomews.leeds.sch.uk/news/latest/2014-06-07-st-bart-s-u11-girls-cup-is-a-success
40 teams from around the whole of Leeds took part in the St Bart’s U11 Girls’
