Sorry for the wait to see what has been happening in Nursery. We have been very busy and have loved using the sensory bags.

The benefits of sensory play are:

  • It helps to build nerve connections in the brain.
  • It encourages the development of motor skills.
  • It supports language development.
  • It encourages 'scientific thinking' and problem solving.
  • It can involve mindful activities which are beneficial for all children.

We came up with words like 'squidgy', 'hard', 'bumpy', 'soft', 'it twinkles'.

We also used sensory materials to make marks in flour and shaving foam.
