Image of Reception (Class 1) - Teddy Bear Hospital

Today we had a very exciting afternoon!

We had visitors from the teddy bear hospital and they showed us lots of different things and taught us all about what doctors do and how to keep our body healthy.

  • Healthy Eating - We looked at different types of foods and sorted them into healthy and unhealthy.
  • CPR - We learnt how to perform CPR on the teddy. How we have to go on our knees, put our hands together and press in time with the tune of baby shark. This helps to restart a heart.
  • First Aid - We looked a different kinds of wounds your body may get; cuts, bruises, blisters etc. Then we looked at how we can treat them, with plasters and bandages from the first aid kit.
  • All about Hearts - We looked at and tried Stethoscopes, learnt what they were used for and how we can listen to our heart. We learnt all about what our heart does and how we check it using blood pressure machines.
  • Toothbrushing - We got to practice how we should brush our teeth using the large teeth and tooth brushes. We also learnt how it is important to brush twice a day and visit the dentist regularly.
  • Inside - Using the large teddy we got to see the organs that our inside our body and learn a bit more about what they do. We also looked at the Skeleton and pieced the bones all together to make a body.

Thank you to our visitors we had a wonderful afternoon.
