Nursery - Rocks and Hedgehogs

A wonderful start to the week, we have been pairing socks, sorting natural resources into groups, painting hedgehogs using a folk to make the spikes and using leaves, pasta, pipe cleaners and matchsticks to make collage hedgehogs. 

We are using some great words to describe the hedgehogs, such as prickles, spikes, ball and we introduced the word hibernation to explain what hedgehogs do in the winter. 

Ned the hedgehog from the book 'It Was A Cold Dark Night' was looking for a home to settle down in for the winter, eventually finding a pile of leaves to snuggle down under.
