An update at the start of the second half term.
Pupil Parliament have been busy behind the scenes taking your ideas and turning them into a reality. You may recall, a few weeks ago, that Ibrahim brought in an old book bag, in good condition, he wished to donate to a child who didn’t have one. He then asked PP if this was something we could start in school, to donate old items with lots of use still in them, to be donated to children who may need them.
PP discussed this and have settled on starting a ‘Swap Shop’. We sent out flyers to all children and discussed these ideas with their classes. They asked for donations of bags, jumpers, coats, wellies, trainers, shoes, and a variety of other items, that are in good condition, to be donated.
The school hasn’t disappointed us. We have several items already sent to Mr Horsey ready to set up our first Swap Shop. There will be a notice sent out when this will take place.
In the meantime, please keep sending any donations to the school so we can add them to our stock.
As a sneak peak into what is currently being discussed, from several ideas given by pupils across school, I can tell you we are looking into Christmas Jumper Day, fruit as well as bagels and how to improve our playtime activities.
