In Computing Club, we have been learning about Wikipedia and discussing why it is important to think carefully about information we find online. While Wikipedia can be a very useful source of information, anyone can edit many of its pages, which means mistakes can sometimes appear. We also talked about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can occasionally provide incorrect or misleading information, so facts should always be checked using reliable sources.
To put our learning into practice, we are creating our own Wikipedia-style pages. Rather than publishing them on the real Wikipedia website, pupils are using our school's own WordPress platform to design and build webpages safely. This allows them to learn about researching information, checking facts, writing clearly, and publishing content online.
