Year 6

This morning, class 16 took part in a mindfulness work shop, where they learnt some techniques on how to meditate and relieve stress.

Well done class 17 for working so hard on our new song this half-term: Freedom is Coming.

The boys did an excellent job of leading us, and the girls excellently followed a choral echo.

Well done to everyone for learning the glockenspiel and 2 boys for their drum…

Class 15 enjoyed using their maths skills to program the Bee Bots, whilst practising their knowledge of co-ordinates.

Today we used our oracy skills to actively listen and respond to our partners, when solving a maths investigation about time.

Class 17 enjoyed having a discussion with a visitor from Leeds United on gangs, grooming and knife crime.

Class 17 loved our first cryptography lesson on secret Semaphone messages.  

Well done class 17 for using our sentence stems in an excellent way, to discuss worries and behaviours that young people may have in our mental health PSHE lesson.

In history this week, class 16 have enjoyed working together to present information to each other about areas of Viking life. 

They were thinking about working together and how best to present their ideas with confidence to their audience.

Congratulations to the year 5/6 athletics team for qualifying to the final of the sports hall athletics competition.

They were fantastic and showed great athleticism in numerous events.

Class 16 have been looking at different ways to crack codes. 

Today we were using morse code to send and receive messages.

Class 17 made pledges for our anti-racism Award.

Mr Needham enjoyed taking class 15 into the library for their library session.  

Children changed their library books and spent time reading them.
