Image of Nursery - Superworm and Wilbur the Worm

We have been reading the books Superworm and Wilbur the Worm this week as well as watching and reading facts about worms.

We have learnt that worms do not have eyes or ears but are sensitive to vibrations, that they like rainy days and they are good for the soil. Earthworms eat soil! Their nutrition comes from things in soil, such as decaying roots and leaves

We have painted and collaged worms, we have made dough worms and measured worms using the unifix. We used vocabulary such as long, short, wiggly, worms, fat, thin.

One of our children painted a picture of the golden carriage that she saw in London when she went to watch the Kings coronation and see her uncle fly his aeroplane in the 'flight pass' that occurred after the coronation when the Royal Family were on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
