Year 2 (Class 6) - History - Sir William Petty and The Great Fire of London

On Monday class 6 had a visit from Sir William Petty. 

He told year 2 all about The Great Fire of London. 

He showed us how a storm lantern worked and it didn’t matter how many children tried to blow it out they couldn’t. He taught us about where the fire started and how it spread. 

In an experiment the children had to pretend to be houses to show how the fire spread as the houses were so close together. They also discovered how hard it was to try put an imaginary fire out when the water source was so far away. 

The children had a wonderful day and learnt a lot.
