Year 1 (Class 4) - Art - Remembrance Day
Class 4 have been getting ready for Remembrance Day by making poppies.
We used paper plates and coloured strips of paper to make our own poppies.
Year 5 (Class 12) - Art - World War 2 Inspired Landscapes
Class 12 have been working on a world war 2 inspired landscape this half term.
They have used charcoal sketching skills for the landscape, then used watercolours to paint poppies as a remembrance piece too.

This week class 13 have studied the war time landscape artist Jaqueline Hurley. They have created an artist focus page in their books and critiqued her work.
Everyone’s was different and the children were allowed to be as creative as they wanted with the information given.

Year 2 (Class 6) - Art - Weaving & Lucy Poskitt
Class 6 learnt about weaving through the artwork of Lucy Poskitt, experimented using barring techniques and learnt how to dye material to create a sea texture.
The children then learnt about repeating weaving patterns, before experimenting and practising the art of weaving.

In art class 6 have been learning how to weave.
They made a loom out of cardboard, learnt to use paper to go over and under, making sure to alternate the layers.
