Year 2 (Class 6) - Maths - 2D Shape Vocabulary

Class 6 learnt some new 2D shape vocabulary. They learnt the words sides and vertices.

They learnt that the sticks were the sides and the play dough was the vertices and were challenged to make some 2D shapes. After making a square together pupils easily made triangles and rectangles counting the amount of sides and vertices that each had as they went.

Some pupils even challenged themselves to make pentagons, hexagons and octagons which I was really impressed with.
