This week in history Class 12 have used secondary sources to research Viking life and culture. 

They had a specific area each and worked as groups to present their information to the rest of the class.

Year 2 have been learning about the Great Fire of London. 

We talked about what we would see, hear, smell, taste and feel if we were there. 

In groups, the children wrote a poem about the fire and their five senses.

Class 6 have been learning about the Great Fire of London. 

They learnt about London and what the city was like, that the houses were close together, made of wood and stuck out at the top.

Class 5 enjoyed their trip to Skipton Castle. 

We learned lots about the different rooms in the castle and even experienced what a real dungeon was like in the dark.

Class 5 enjoyed their Kings and Queens Day. 

We decorated our own crowns and shields and learned about the different foods that were eaten at feasts.

On Monday, class 12 drew some fantastic sunset and silhouettes for Remembrance Day using oil pastels and felt-tip pens.

Today we went to the Yorkshire coal mining museum to learn more about our science topic on rocks. 

We learnt about how coal was made as well as mudstone, sandstone, limestone and ironstone and what life was like for miners years ago.

Class 4 enjoyed learning all about Remembrance Day and making their own poppy wreaths.

Class 15 completed work on remembrance - children learnt about the meaning of remembrance and events we hold to remember those that have lost their lives in wars and conflicts.  

Children completed their own take on silhouette poppies.
