In RE this half term we are learning about how ancient stories influence modern celebrations.
Today we looked why light is important to Sikhs during Bandi Chhor Divas. We made our own tassels like the ones Guru Hargobind wore when he was released from prison with the 52 princes.

Class five are having a great time for cultural week. It is so nice to see so many children dressing up in their cultures traditional clothing.

All of year 4 walked up to the local mosque as part of cultural week.
All the children enjoy seeing what the inside of a mosque looks like and meet the Imam. He gave us a talk about the Islamic religion and answered lots of the children’s questions.

As part of Cultural Week, year 2 made stuffed parathas with Mrs Sagoo.

Year 1 - R.E - Sikh Temple Visit
Year 1 really enjoyed their visit to the Sikh Temple, they were able to see where they pray and even were treated to some food and some drink.
We learned a lot about the religion and had a lovely time.
