Year 6 (Class 14) - PSHE - Homelessness
This week in PSHE class 14 have being learning about homelessness. They then reflected on essential, important and unimportant things they have in their homes.
They then used these points to orally tell their peers using the traverse Oracy strategy.

This week, years 5 and 6 took part in an assembly, where British Sign Language was used to perform different Christmas carols.

Year 4 (Class 11) - Science - Soil Samples
Today we investigated soil samples. We made observations about colour, sediment size and permeability.
We used keys to identify which sample we thought was which.

Year 6 (Class 16) - Geography / Oracy - Mountains
This week, class 16 researched different mountains.
Each group had a mountain, that they researched and presented to the class.
They used their oracy skills to present this on presentation cards, and then feedback to each group.

It was wonderful to have a visit from Sheila Banks (our Chair of Governors) today.
She enjoyed watching a phonics lesson in KS1 and working with children in class 5 as part of an Oracy lesson in Geography.

This week in DT class 14 have developed their sewing skills by using the running stitch, back stitch and blanket stitch to create coasters.
The coasters will be gifted to friends and family.

Year 6 - History - A Visit from Judith
The children of year 5 and 6 were treated to a visit from Judith. She is the daughter of a lady who was rescued from Germany on the Kinder-transport in 1938.
She told us her mums story of escape and how she left her parents and sister behind. She later found out that her family didn’t survive…
