Year 2

Class five have had a fantastic day acting as kings, queens, knights and soldiers. 

We made our own crowns, shields and swords. We then had a fashion show to show off our fantastic outfits.

This week we have looked at 3D shapes, some children went on a shape hunt around the school to find different objects and identify the name of the 3D shapes.

Class 6 have been working hard making and labelling the features of 2D shapes.

They have been trying to type with 2 hands, save and retrieve their work and format their writing. 

Some children have become very independent in their information technology.

Class 6 have been working hard in their pe lessons on their throwing and catching. 

They have been focusing on the strength of the pass and aiming for a target. 

Their focus and resilience was lovely to see as well as how they cheered each other on. 

Class 6 created an experiment to discover how bouncy balls were. 

They worked together to drop the balls from a certain height, measuring its bounce against a metre stick. They then recorded their results and ranked the balls from bounciest to least bounciest.

Today the children in class 5 were investigating different sentence types in English. 

They worked in teams to identify statements, questions, exclamations and commands using sentences from the story of Rapunzel.

On Friday Jackson brought in a very special trophy. 

Jackson showed the class and explained he was given man of the match in his weekend football team because he showed great resilience.
