Year 6 (Class 15) - English - Writing
Class 15 have been working extremely hard writing a setting description based around Holes. Children used their plans, peer opinion and thesaurus’s when writing.
Mr Needham was very impressed with their dedication and drive.

Year 5 (Class 12) - English - Spellings
Class 12 were introduced the their spellings for the week.
Children looked at the rules for words ending in 'ity' and then practised spelling the words in their spelling books.

Year 1 (Class 3) - English - Story Time
Class 3 loved listening to Mr Needham read to them.
He read George’s marvellous medicine and even showed us the slug sandwiches that grandma likes to eat!

Year 3 (Class 7) - English - Author Visit
Today class 7 had a visit from, Marie Basting, a children's author. We got to meet Tyson the teabag and learn about her stories.
We then started to plan our own time travel stories.
We had chance to read our stories to the class an receive feedback from the author.

Class 4 have enjoyed learning a poem all about winter animals and performed it using actions.

It was wonderful to have a visit from Sheila Banks (our Chair of Governors) today.
She enjoyed watching a phonics lesson in KS1 and working with children in class 5 as part of an Oracy lesson in Geography.

Class 13 have been working hard on developing their handwriting!
Children are making progress and some children have achieved pen licences!

Year 6 (Class 14) - English - Relative Clauses
Class 14 worked in table groups to form expanded sentences using relative clauses, coordinating and subordinating conjunctions.
This is in practice for writing their biographies next week.
