Year 5

Girls in years 5 and 6 have been developing their football skills every Wednesday after school with Mr Needham.  

Children have been working on their passing and moving in pairs and passing into space for teammates to run on to the ball. 

Years 5 and 6 are making the most of ‘art at home.’  

A member of class 12 was delighted to take the folder home to work on a perspective drawing.

Class 15 went back in time on their school trip this week! They were met from their transport by a billeting officer and assigned to board at Lotherton House.

Class 12 have been working really hard with their one point perspective WW2 scene. 

We have been working with charcoals to create a background. 

Next week we will be making and adding pipes to our screen. 

This week in computing club most groups began to program their robots using a laptop.

The Lego NXT software allows you to adjust your robots speed, direction and even talk.

Class 14 have been looking at the work of our artist of the term Jaqueline Hurley. 

Her art focuses on war time landscapes with lots of texture and depth. 

The children loved her work and now feel inspired to create their own piece of art in her style. 

In science this week class 14 have started to make their own models to represent the circulatory system. 

The straws represent the wind pipe and the bags the lungs. The red and blue card represent the oxygenated and deoxygenated parts of the heart.
