Year 2 (Class 5) - Maths - Greater or Less
In maths we have worked hard recognising 2 digit numbers, we have used the base ten to help us represent numbers.
Today we used the base ten to make numbers and then showed if the number was greater than or less than using the correct symbol.

They have been plotting the characters emotions on a graph and then completing sentences justifying their reasons.

Year 5 had a great time in the library with the guest author Kate Pankhurst who talked about how she has developed her books all about great women from history who changed the world.

Class 16 recapped over their multiplication knowledge in Maths.
Children modelled and discussed how to complete column multiplication questions and then completed work in their exercise books - some children focusing on short multiplication and some working on long multiplication.

Class 16 enjoyed reading the opening chapters of ‘I survived the sinking of the Titanic, 1912.’
Children used their inference skills to explain why characters might have behaved as they did and children also highlighted unfamiliar words and used the text around the words to explain the meaning…

Reception (Class 1) - Phonics
Week 3 in reception saw the start of phonics!
The children have worked so hard to learn our first new sounds, spotting them in their reading books and practicing writing them.
Some children even had a go at painting the sounds. Well done reception!
