Year 3 (Class 8) - Computing - Microsoft Word and Tables

Today, we learned how to insert a table into a word document and gather data. We used it to gather information on class favourites. 

This week, we discussed alcohol abuse. We used our oracy skills to instigate and build on each other’s ideas. 

We spoke about how alcoholism affects the person and their health and well-being. 

And then how it can affect other people around them. 

Class 4 have enjoyed going on a local walk around Armley. 

We named the different types of houses that we could see and thought about whether they were modern or old houses. 

We then walked down Town Street and talked about the different kinds of shops that we could see.

Today we found different areas using multi link.

Class 5 have been learning about the different percussion instruments in music.

They really enjoyed performing the song ‘Music In My Soul’ using the instruments the keep with the beat and tempo of the song.

In RE, class 10 have been comparing Sikh and Christian artefacts.

Gursneha is Sikh, and she explained the 5 Ks so confidently and clearly - it was great to learn from her.

In Computing, class 10 have been making tables.

We inserted a table, then collected information about our friends, before editing the text.

In Science we have been learning about the seasonal changes that take place in autumn. We went outside to look for evidence of these changes and found lots of different coloured leaves.

We then made pictures to show what happens in autumn.

Year 1 enjoyed making rain gauges to measure the rainfall.

We will use these this year to measure how much rain there is in each season.

In Maths, class 4 have been exploring numbers to 10. We worked in partners to write the numbers in numerals and words.

This week at Computing Club, pupils got hands-on with the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Sets to build their very own breakdancing robots! 

After assembling their creations using motors, sensors, and colourful LEGO components, they moved on to coding the robots with custom dance routines.
