This week, years 5 and 6 took part in an assembly, where British Sign Language was used to perform different Christmas carols.

Today we investigated soil samples. We made observations about colour, sediment size and permeability. 

We used keys to identify which sample we thought was which. 

We also researched what soil is made from. 

This week, class 16 researched different mountains. 

Each group had a mountain, that they researched and presented to the class. 

They used their oracy skills to present this on presentation cards, and then feedback to each group. 

It was wonderful to have a visit from  Sheila Banks  (our Chair of Governors) today. 

She enjoyed watching a phonics lesson in KS1 and working with children in class 5 as part of an Oracy lesson in Geography.

This week in DT class 14 have developed their sewing skills by using the running stitch, back stitch and blanket stitch to create coasters. 

The coasters will be gifted to friends and family.

Class 4 have enjoyed learning about materials in our Science lesson. 

We thought about the properties of different materials and then sorted different objects according to these properties.

This week, was our oracy lesson during PSHE. We discussed homelessness, and what was essential, important and not important to living. 

We then used a traverse to speak to our partner about what we thought, and then repeated this back to each other.

Construction Club is in full swing and all the children are enjoying a variety of activities. They have been building all sorts of different models with LEGO and they have even managed to finish a few jigsaws.
