Year 5 (Class 14) - Art - Stencils
We have been experimenting with stencils. The children cut their own shapes and pictures, then used sponges to create both negative and positive stencils.
This is how Banksy creates his pictures on the walls around Britain.

Year 2 (Class 6) - R.E - The Teachings of Jesus
In RE, class 6 have been learning all about the teachings of Jesus.
We read the parable of the Feeding of the 5000, before creating beautiful watercolour illustrations to represent the story.

Today we were visited by James Nicol in our beautiful new library who shared his books with us and told us how he came up with all of his wonderful ideas.
He shared pictures of his life and told us how they influenced his characters and plot lines.

We investigated which sounds travel the furthest by testing high and low pitch sounds and recording it using data loggers.
We recorded the data in tables and compared our results as a class.

Nursery - Gross Motor Skills
In nursery the children have been developing their gross motor skills this week.

Year 2 (Class 5) - English - Author Visit
Yesterday, we had a visit from the author Bethan Woollvin.
We had a great time with her, she read her version of Rapunzel, year two really enjoyed it. Bethan then showed us how to draw the main characters.
We had a great time it was so exciting to meet a real author.

Year 4 (Class 11) - Music - Sound and Pitch
Class 11 decided on how to conduct and experiment to find which pitch of sound travels furthest (low or high).
Mr Horsey played a variety of instruments the children chose, with different pitches, to see which was the loudest.
