We have been reading The Ugly Five as part of our English lessons.
During the oracy lesson, the children were asked what their favourite animal from the story was and why. We had some interesting answers.

Year 1 (Class 4) - English - Phonics Boom!
The children have enjoyed practising reading real and nonsense words by playing 'Phonics BOOM!'.
A small group of children worked together to think of sentences to describe the animals in this week's book 'The Ugly Five'.

The children are enjoying this half terms Safari topic.
They have enjoyed dressing up in the different animal costumes, completing construction activities, such as building a safari jeep and making a paper plate lion.

Year 2 (Class 6) - Oracy / Science - Seeds
Class 6 had an oracy lesson in science this week. We used talk tokens to discuss whether a Moston United football club should have a roof built to stop the pitch getting muddy.
We then carried out an experiment to discover whether seeds can grow without water or light.

Class 7 have been practising recognising different types of music.
We focused on the drums and guitar in rock music, the strings and piano in classical music and the twang of the banjo and ukulele in country music.
