Year 2 (Class 6) - History - Sir William Petty Visit
Class 6 loved the workshop with Sir William Petty!
He came and told us all about the Great Fire of London.
We really enjoyed pretending we were a London street that set on fire and creating a bucket chain to try and put out the fire.

Year 3 (Class 9) - Music - 'G' Chord and a 'Minor'
In class 9 we have been practicing the g chord and a minor.
Safari and Kashish played along to a sea shanty and really impressed the rest of the class.

Year 4 (Class 11) - P.E - Balances
Class 11 have enjoyed practicing balances in pairs.
They were giving the opportunity to work together to put a routine together involving a balance, travel, jump, travel and balance.
There were some very original ideas and solid balances.

Year 3 (Class 9) - Science - Boiling Points
We researched the melting and boiling points of different natural materials.
We discussed why we had to research this as it was too dangerous to have such high temperatures in a classroom.
We also discussed uses for things made out of metals with such high melting points such as for ovens…

Year 3 (Class 9) - Commando Joe's - Rescue Mission
Today we worked as a team to rescue Gorillas just like Kira Salak.
We started off at an easy level and we gradually moved further away so that earlier tactics had to be built on and developed to help us succeed.

In maths we have been looking at numbers to 5; counting, comparing and making them.
This week we have been focusing on their numerals and matching them to the correct amount.

The children in reception have been practicing their subitising skills and recognising amounts without counting.
We used dot cards to subitise the amounts and then use counters to copy the patterns.

This week we have started our new learning question of 'Where can I go and How can I get there?'.
To begin, we have been recapping our previous learning about where we live. We have looked at maps of the UK and located our city of Leeds.

Year 3 (Class 9) - History - Artefacts from the Stone Age
In history this week we were looking at artefacts from the Stone Age. We predicted what some objects excavated from Star Carr might have been used for.
We were also very lucky as we got to handle and have a close up look at Stone Age artefacts from Leeds Museum.
