This week, in PE we began our dance topic. 

We learnt a stamp, clap routine and then the children got into groups and created their own stamp, clap dance routine.

Class 4 have been learning about what Town Street was like in the past and comparing it to how it is today. 

We enjoyed going on a walk to Town Street to look at the shops there. 

We also looked at the types of houses in our local area and thought about how old they might be.

Class 3 and 4 have been learning all about Bonfire Night this week in English. 

We talked about the different things we can see on Bonfire Night and then wrote a class poem about these things. We then performed our poems to each other.

Class 4 loved watching a Punch and Judy puppet show and then learning all about how puppets work. 

They had a go using the puppets and are very excited to make their own puppets later on this term.

Today they used their Oracy skills to decide as a group how to classify animals into 2 groups then 2 subgroups.

This week, some of year 6 got the opportunity to visit Maths city in Leeds City Centre.

Our Community Police Officers came to visit Reception to talk to us about how to be safe around the time of Bonfire night and Halloween.

Class 16 are enthusiastically using Reading Plus to aid their reading fluency and their comprehension.  

Mr Needham was very impressed with the effort and dedication displayed by the children.  

Class 16 have investigated the differences between formal and informal language using a variety of sources, including a speech delivered by Winston Churchill.
