Year 1

The children in year 1 and 2 won prizes for their attendance.

Today the school was buzzing with excitement as the children visited the free book shop in school to choose a selection of books to keep.

Thanks to The Children's Book Project the school gave away over 500 books for children to enjoy at home.

Class 3 are really enjoying mindfulness when they come in from dinner time. 

Here we are doing the body scanner to help us to calm down and notice how our body feels. 

Class 3 and 4 have enjoyed learning all about bonfire night.

They made up their own bonfire night poems and performed them for each other.

Class 4 have been practising answering addition and subtraction questions within 10. 

They enjoyed playing a game to see who could answer the most addition and subtraction questions in partners.

Class 3 and 4 have enjoyed learning all about bonfire night.

Class 3 really enjoyed looking for nouns in the classroom and then working with a partner to write them down.

Class 4 have enjoyed taking part in PE sessions led by a coach from Leeds Rhinos. 

They have played lots of different games including taking part in a fun warm up and having a go at tag rugby.

Class 4 enjoyed learning all about Remembrance Day and making their own poppy wreaths.

Class 4 have been learning about senses this term. We practised using our noses to smell different things and talk about if we liked each smell.

Class 3 and 4 had an amazing time for their Celebration Day! We dressed in clothes that are special to us and talked about the different events that we celebrate.

We then learnt all about Diwali and made our own diya lamps. We also had lots of fun learning some Indian dances!

Class 4 have enjoyed practising subtraction within 10 using a number line.
