Year 2

Here are the KS1 staff dressed up for World Book Day!

Class 6 have been thinking about their mental health this week. The theme has been this is my place. 

We have thought about where our place is and where we feel we belong, whether this is a place, with people or an activity that makes us feel that way.

Class 6 took part in Safer Internet Day. They learnt about AI. 

They learnt that voice assistants like Alexa’s are AI. 

They discussed how this makes them feel, they learnt how they should use them correctly and how they actually work. 

Children in Class 5 really enjoyed the Great Fire of London workshop. 

We met Sir William Petty who was a landlord, but lived in Ireland. He told us all about how the fire started and why it spread so quickly. We learned how they tried to put it out and completed our own experiment where we…

Class 6 really enjoyed number day.

They designed number day t-shirts for the NSPCC, took part in a workshop, had a parent speaker, read a maths book, did a whole host of maths related activities based around it AND made number crowns.

It was a very fun day!

Class 5 enjoyed taking part in this years number day. 

They worked hard in the workshop, where they solved multiplication problems and worked together to create different objects using their bodies.

Class 5 listened very carefully to our visitors from the NSPCC.

They learned all about the amazing work the NSPCC does and how they help to keep children safe.

Today class 6 had a NSPCC workshop about speaking out and staying safe. 

They met buddy, discussed who they could talk to if they felt sad and how they could contact childline if they ever needed. 

Class 6 really enjoyed having a visitor from the past. Sir William Petty came from 1666 to tell the children all about The Great Fire of London.

They couldn’t believe how he spoke and what he wore, let alone what he told them about the fire. They took part in experiments, learnt how the fire…

Class 6 downloaded their photos from google drive. 

They were taught how to edit their images, changing the shapes, contrast and colour before up loading them to google drive again. 

In art we have continued to learn about collage. 

Class 6 had a skills lesson practising their collage skills, discovering if cutting, tearing, single or mixed media made the best fire collage.
