Class 5 enjoyed going to gym magic to learn some new skills.

We have been making our own stop motion video in computing.

The children worked in pairs to create their final piece, an under the sea race and added audio to it.

Class 5 were very excited to have a visit from some firefighters.

We thought of lots of different questions for the firefighters and learned lots about their job. We were then shown the fire engine and all of their equipment.

They then gave us a demonstration of their hose.

In English, we have been learning about riddles. We wrote our own riddles.

We had 5 eggs delivered a few weeks ago. We kept them in an incubator.

We did not have to wait long as on Wednesday five of the eggs cracked and we observed 5 beautiful ducklings hatching. Unfortunately, one duckling was poorly so it had to go back to mummy duck for cuddles. 

On Thursday…

Class 6 had a visit from the fire service today. They talked about fire safety, discussed the equipment on the fire engine and how it was all used. The children were amazed by all the equipment and how it was used, they couldn’t believe how much water was carried on the engine and even got a live…

This half-term Class 12 have been using micro:bits to code. 

They have coded it to display their name, pick random numbers (like a dice) and play rock, paper scissors. 

They have absolutely loved it!

Class 6 has an amazing time celebrating rainbow day.

They learnt a lot about different religions, where their peers were from and how they celebrated. They had a parent visitor who taught us about Ramadan and the children were very interested in the cycle of the moon.

Then the children…

Class 5 really enjoyed their trip to Gym Magic and loved going onto the beam, bars and trampolines.

In Autumn Term Class 12 used Microsoft Word to produce tables with key facts. 

They inserted key events of their lives in order to plan an autobiography. 

The unit included inserting tables and changing fonts and size of water. 

In Spring Term, Class 12 used coding to create a html page and became web designers. 

The page was linked to our history topic- The Vikings and our English genre of non chronological reports. 

Here are examples of what they produced. 

This week, Class 16 researched different life cycles. 

These included ducks, frogs, mammals and fish. 

Children then presented their research to the rest of the class, and we summarised the information, thinking about the listening ladder and the physical strand of our oracy framework.
